Nullarbor Links: The World's Longest Golf Course

Nullarbor Links is the world's longest golf course: 18 holes, par 72, spread over 1,365 kilometres of the Eyre Highway from Kalgoorlie in Western Australia to Ceduna in South Australia. There's a hole at each participating town or roadhouse, so you play your way across the Nullarbor one stop at a time. It opened in October 2009.

Where the holes are

Some holes are on existing town golf courses; most were built specially at roadhouses beside the highway. From west to east:

How to play

You can play in either direction. Prices and details can change, so check the official Nullarbor Links website before you go.

Tips: pack sunscreen, a hat and water — most holes are out in the open with little shade. Allow a bit of extra time each day; a round of 18 adds several hours to the crossing in total. And keep an eye out for wildlife on the fairways.

Planning the drive

The course follows the Eyre Highway, so the fuel stops and distances table doubles as a map of the course from Norseman to Ceduna. Kalgoorlie, Kambalda and Widgiemooltha are north of Norseman, on the Goldfields route to Perth.
